25 years of high pollution episodes in the continent

Between the most serious disasters in Europe provoked by chemical and industrial wastes are these :

1st of November 1985 : one fire in a chemical warehouse near Basilea (Switzerland) produce a massive pollution of river Rin´s water and the death of all its animals. It has affected France, Germany, Netherland and Luxemburg

25th of April 1998: a raft of chemical wast eof Boliden in Aználcollar (Sevilla) dumps 5 hm of acid waters and toxic mud in Guadiamar river.

30th of January 2000: a mineral wastes´raft broke and 100 000 m3 of water with high contents of cyanide from a gold mine in Baia Mare (Romania)

12 of September 2000: a pipe of the battery factory in Kosovska Mitrovica (Kosovo) causes the waste of 40000 liters of sulfuric acid

16 of August 2005: about 80000 l of poisonous hidrocarbure ortoxilene wastes in Oise river in Chauny ( north France). It was caused by an escape in the chemical floor
